My passion is helping women and teen girls believe, connect, heal, learn, love, persist, open, balance, trust, transform and most importantly shine!
It is what we perceive, how we think and what we choose to do when faced with life’s challenges that determine our overall sense of well-being. I specialize in empowering and supporting my clients so they can overcome obstacles and thrive in their everyday lives.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Georgia and have been since 1993. Prior to my relocation I was a Certified Social Worker in New York. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Hofstra University in December 1986, a Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University in May 1989 and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Addictions from Adelphi in 1990. My journey has consisted of working in a variety of different settings including a community mental health center, outpatient chemical dependency programs, elementary & high schools, a managed care company, an employee assistance program, as well as private practice.
What I believe:
Therapy is a process and it unfolds within a dynamic, unique, powerful and creative relationship.
It is an honor and a blessing to be invited into the lives of my clients.
In struggle you find beautiful gifts.
Consistent, small, incremental steps add up to big change.
The human spirit is resilient, strong and courageous.
My work requires me to hold space for each client…being present with integrity, authenticity and healthy boundaries.
In my role as your therapist I will empathize, accept, engage, encourage, guide, support, motivate, observe, participate, reflect, listen & hear–what’s being said as well as what’s not being said. I am an active participant in the relationship.
Self-care is vital to our overall sense of well-being…a healthy body, mind & spirit.
- ~A well-taken care of me makes me a better therapist, wife, mother, sister, friend, human being!
